We're sorry to hear about your friend's insensitivity. The only advice we can offer is that you may want to reevaluate your friendship with this individual. He is certainly aware of how you feel about fishing, and it appears the sole intent of his e-mail to taunt and upset you. That's certainly not the kind of behavior one would expect of a true friend. If you do choose to continue this friendship, you may just want to avoid the subject of fishing altogether. You're not going to be able to convince him of anything, and he will only continue to use this information as a way to upset and manipulate you.
