Seriously, this would not be a bad pick for Obama.  Biden is experienced and adds gravitas to the ticket.

I'm sure if McCain picks someone like Romney it will take a long time for left-leaning columnists to come up with some reasons why that's a bad pick. 

Seriously, I'm not so sure that Biden is the guy now.  Besides all the reasons mentioned in the above comments, he also got busted in 1988 by Michael Dukakis for plagiarism in his primary speeches.  With simialr charges brought up against Obama earlier this year by Hillary's campaign, it probably would not be a good idea for him to remind the public of his own past controversies.

 Honestly I don't like the ad, but not sure where the irony comes from?  Democrats, as far as I know, weren't really complaining about the republicans calling Kerry rich.  This is more of a you get what you dish kind of thing that I don't really care for.

How many houses does McCain own for real?  He doesn't even know.  So it's not ironic, it's what's good for the goose is good for the gander.   He's so loaded he's out of touch.

The irony comes from the fact that both parties have plenty of extremely rich people serving as politicians and that just last election the Democrats nominated one of the few who was probably richer than McCain.

As long as they keep their homes environmentally friendly and plant plenty of native trees on the property I'm all for owning as many houses as you can!!!

Obama picked Biden because Obama has VERY little experience at all, so he needed a VP that had a LOT of experience to make his ticket more appealing. Honestly though, I don't think it would make a difference. It seems many people voting for Obama don't even know that Biden is his presidential running mate.
