Doughboy was complaining I don't post much about technology. Well today I was loggin' on my BBS and I got this message:
hi! I tried to page you a bunch of times, but you never answered. I figured,
how often does someone "page a SysOp" in this day and age?! lol and I
thought you might be happy to chat. But I Guess I Musta Caught You At
a Bad Time? anyways, just wanted to say Thanx for keeping the board up. it's
definitely one of the Coolest. Aw hell.. It ROCKS! Compared To Some of Those
Other Crap BBS's That Are Left.
I Was also hoping though, to talk to you about some other stuff though.
A bug in one of the door games, and some stuff.. no biggeee though. maybe
next time, huh?
anyways, more than anything, just wanted to say THANKS!!!! For not giving up
yet, like everyone else did.. And Thanks for giving us a place to escape to,
like we used to, back in the old days.. !! :)
Laterz,
Me
This is why I still run a board. I haven't logged more than twice in the past six months, but it's still in use! If you've never called a BBS before, it's still up and you can look it up on Wikipedia here. Kinda like this place, but way cooler. You can log on the board by clicking the Bulletin Board System tab up top. I have to admit I still like the solitaire games where everyone gets the same hand making the game "solitaire" multiplayer. There's also fishing which no matter how old the technology, is always a good thing. Enjoy!
Barack Obama wants to expand Bush's Faith Based Programs? "The challenges we face today ... are simply too big for government to solve alone," Obama said.
Would you send your kids here?
From the yea friggin right file, Will Smith is bank rolling a new school that supposedly isn't a school of Scientology. "...they have selected a group of Scientologists, including the Director of Learning, Director of Qualifications and Artistic Director, to create that atmosphere. According to Smith, "I am a Christian. I am a student of all religions. And I respect all people and all paths."
From alert reader Todd, this former dope addict became a Christian, and then a millionaire.
The thought of hoax probably crossed all our minds when we saw the picture, but all the news outlets had picked it up and our minds began to wonder how a group of people could have not been found by this point in time. Well, according to Yahoo!, the story was indeed too good to be true:
As it turns out, the story is only half true. The men in the photo are members of a tribe, but it certainly ain't "lost." In fact, as the photographer, José Carlos Meirelles, recently explained, authorities have known about this particular tribe since 1910. The photographer and the agency that released the pictures wanted to make it seem like they were members of a lost tribe in order to call attention to the dangers the logging industry may have on the group.
There aren't many appearance attacks on men that come to mind like the video from the previous post, but we are reminded of the "John Kerry Looks French" lame attacks.
June 22, 2008, Liberal Media Bias? Maybe, But Definitely Sexist Bias...
Pickle showed me this video tonight in a fairly serious mode. I laughed through much of it, especially at 4:18, and I don't think she thought it was as funny. I was wondering what everyone else thinks:
